For the Love of the Environment gift bundle contains our brand new handmade stunning Fair Trade Artisan Bird Nester, handmade to the highest quality using natural seagrass and recycled saris. Each artisan chooses the colourful recycled sari pattern making every nester different.

The bundle also contains a 250g pack of 'No Mess' wild bird food, which comes in fully compostable packaging made from starch and plant fibre. Nesting wool in a plastic-free hessian sack is also included. Our latest conservation guide on Garden Birds finishes the bundle off.

The Artisan Bird Nester is oval in shape offering a medium-sized cavity perfect for small garden bird species which roost alone or in a pair. Offering a cosy place to roost during harsh winter months, plus in springtime, small birds may use this Fair Trade product as a nest.

The Fair Trade Bird Nester has a sturdy inner frame for support. Attached metal hooks at the rear and a long loop at the top to ensure you can fasten the nester securely. As a result, this makes it easier to site the nester in the natural leaf cover and vegetation of ivy, bushes, trees or hedges. The nester has a small round entrance reinforced with steel. It is also slightly protruding to make it easy for birds to land and perch on.

This really is the perfect gift for your nature-loving friends and family. You’ll be helping garden birds find a safe place to roost and nest in their gardens and outdoor spaces, as well as supporting the Artisan workers in Southern Bangladesh who make them - funding the survival of many women and their families from rural communities in desperate poverty.

Siting

Position the bird nester in a sheltered space to keep out harsh weather. Preferably face the bird nester between North and South-East. A warm, protected roosting space out of the prevailing wind can be a lifesaver for small birds during cold, harsh weather conditions.
